Daily Melbourne–Bali Flights Set to Begin in October
Travelers between Australia and Indonesia will soon have another direct flight option as TransNusa prepares to launch its new daily Melbourne–Bali service.
The airline has opened ticket sales for the new route, which is scheduled to begin operating on October 19, 2026. The service will connect Melbourne Airport with I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali.
The new connection is part of TransNusa’s continued international expansion and its strategy to develop Bali as an important gateway between Australia, Indonesia and other destinations across Asia.
New Route Will Operate Every Day
The Melbourne–Bali route is scheduled to operate daily.
According to the published schedule, flight 8B 18 will depart Bali at 20:45 and arrive in Melbourne at 05:40 the following morning. The return flight, 8B 19, is scheduled to leave Melbourne at 06:25 and arrive in Bali at 09:40.
The daily schedule provides travelers with another direct connection between the two destinations and adds capacity to the growing Australia-Bali travel market.
TransNusa Introduces Premium Plus
The new Melbourne route will also coincide with the introduction of TransNusa’s first Premium Plus product.
The service is positioned as an option for passengers seeking additional comfort and travel benefits without moving into a traditional business-class product.
Premium Plus will include priority benefits and an enhanced baggage allowance. Each flight is expected to have 20 Premium Plus seats.
TransNusa has also promoted baggage, water, snacks and additional legroom as part of its standard service offering.
Bali Positioned as a Travel Gateway
The airline is not positioning the new route simply as a Melbourne-to-Bali connection.
TransNusa plans to use Bali as a hub for onward travel to destinations across Indonesia and Asia. Its network includes connections to destinations such as Wakatobi, Manado, Bima and Lombok.
The airline also highlights onward connections to international destinations including Singapore, Phuket and cities in China.
For Australian travelers, this could provide additional options for combining a Bali trip with travel to other Indonesian or Asian destinations.
Australia Remains an Important Market
The Melbourne launch follows TransNusa’s expansion in the Australian market.
The airline has previously developed its Perth-Bali operations and said it had achieved a 20 percent market share in Perth within 12 months, alongside 21 scheduled weekly flights.
The Melbourne route therefore represents another step in the carrier’s effort to strengthen its presence between Australia and Indonesia.
More Choices for Future Travelers
The new daily service is scheduled to begin in October, giving travelers another direct option for reaching Bali from Melbourne.
With additional destinations available through Bali, the route could also support travelers looking beyond the island itself.
As TransNusa continues expanding its network, Bali is increasingly being developed as a connecting point for travel between Australia, Indonesia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
