Amazon Luna Adds a New Way to Play Online Games
Online multiplayer gaming is becoming increasingly flexible as cloud gaming services look for new ways to connect players.
Amazon Luna has introduced Remote Play, a new feature that allows friends and family to participate in supported multiplayer games even when they are not in the same location. The feature was introduced as part of Luna’s September 2026 content update.
The update gives players another option for enjoying multiplayer experiences without requiring everyone to gather in the same physical location.
Players Can Join From Different Locations
With Remote Play, an eligible Luna player can invite friends or family members to join a gaming session remotely.
Amazon says a host can invite up to seven additional players. Participants need an Amazon account and a supported device, while the invited players do not necessarily need their own Prime membership.
The feature is designed to make shared gaming easier for groups separated by distance.
New GameNight Titles Added to Luna
Amazon has also expanded its GameNight selection during September.
New additions include King of Tokyo, It’s Quiz Time: Guinness World Records, Bowling Mayhem and Cranium Planet. These titles are designed around social and multiplayer experiences.
The company said the new games join more than 60 titles already available on Luna that support shared sessions.
Cloud Gaming Makes Multiplayer More Flexible
The latest Luna update shows how cloud gaming can change the way people access multiplayer experiences.
Traditional multiplayer sessions can sometimes require players to be in the same room or use the same local network. Cloud-based features can reduce some of those limitations by allowing players to connect remotely.
Amazon’s latest update places social gaming at the center of its Luna offering, particularly through GameNight titles.
More Online Games Coming to Luna
Luna’s September update also added Star Wars: Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to Luna Standard. Amazon is continuing to update its cloud gaming library with new titles throughout the month.
The combination of new games and Remote Play shows how cloud gaming platforms are increasingly focusing not only on game availability but also on how players connect with one another.
As online gaming continues to develop, features that make multiplayer sessions easier to organize could become an increasingly important part of the experience.
