A new multiplayer shooter is preparing to enter the online gaming scene with an unusual approach to cooperative gameplay.
GungHo Online Entertainment has announced B.L.U.E. NOVA, a free-to-play third-person PvE shooter coming to PC through Steam in 2027. The game is designed around large-scale cooperation, with battles supporting up to 30 players.
The game puts players in a futuristic conflict between humanity and a rogue artificial intelligence.
Players Can Start Alone and Meet Others
One of the more distinctive ideas behind B.L.U.E. NOVA is how players come together.
Instead of requiring everyone to form a full team before entering a match, players can initially enter the battlefield alone and encounter other players during the mission.
The game’s Ring System is designed to encourage these encounters. When players join forces, they can activate powerful abilities that significantly increase their combat strength.
Up to 30 Players Can Join the Battle
The main Tower Raid mode supports up to 30 players.
Players must fight through waves of mechanical enemies before reaching the central Master Tower. The goal is to cooperate with other players and destroy the tower while dealing with the large AI-controlled forces.
The large player count gives B.L.U.E. NOVA a different scale from traditional small-team cooperative shooters.
The Ring System Powers Up Teamwork
The Ring System is one of the game’s main mechanics.
When players encounter allies and enter the designated ring together, they can trigger an ability called Infinite Barrage. The feature provides massive firepower and unlimited ammunition for a period of combat.
The concept is designed to make cooperation feel like an important part of the battlefield rather than simply an optional feature.
Boss Raids Offer Smaller Team Battles
B.L.U.E. NOVA will not rely entirely on its 30-player battles.
The game also includes Boss Raid missions designed around teams of up to six players. These encounters are intended to provide a more focused cooperative experience against powerful enemies.
Players will also have access to challenge content involving different objectives, including time-based and speedrun-style activities.
Anime-Inspired World Meets Futuristic Combat
The game combines anime-inspired character designs with futuristic environments.
Its story takes place in the year 2200, after humanity leaves Earth and relocates to a planet called Dival. The artificial intelligence responsible for developing the new world eventually goes rogue and creates an army of mechanical weapons.
Players take the role of Heroes who fight against the AI threat.
Coming to PC in 2027
B.L.U.E. NOVA is scheduled to launch on Steam in 2027 as a free-to-play title with in-app purchases.
The official website lists English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese among the supported languages.
With its combination of large-scale PvE battles, spontaneous player encounters and 30-player cooperation, B.L.U.E. NOVA is shaping up as an online shooter to watch ahead of its 2027 release.
